Accident

I got into an accident at a junction to Bishan this afternoon (18.08.07) while I was on my way to meet Rae. For so many years on the road, I have never been rammed by a car on the road and today’s experience was really no good.

I was waiting to make a right turn at the cross junction to street 23. When the light turned green, I had my bike inch forward and waited for the on-coming traffic to clear before making the turn. When the road was finally cleared, I moved on and when my bike reached the oppsite lane near the kerb, I heard a vehicle sounded its horn at me. I turned my head to the left and saw an on-coming car coming from my left. Before I could do anything, this black car rammed onto the left side of my bike, at the wheel. At this very moment, all I could think was "Shit!". The lucky thing is, though I wobbled, I didn’t fall nor injure myself.

Together with the car driver, we both stopped along the road on the left away from the junction. I got down from my bike and was surprised to see that it has got no damage. As for the other car (Lexus sport), its bumper has got scratches and its sport light is cracked. The moment the driver got down from the car, he asked me what was I doing and that his is a brand new car. The most weird question he asked was why did I turn when the light is green. Well, right away I answered back that of course I turned when its green light and for this type of junction, I don’t have to wait for the green arrow. Moreover, I have already checked that the the traffic is cleared. I did told him that he was coming fast but he denied. I mean if it was my fault, I believed I would have been throw off my bike and got myself killed. Anyway, he was still a gentlement who didn’t raised his voice and we just took down each other’s particulars, saying that he would ask Lexus’ company to call me. We didn’t go to the police station as he said he was going for a golf session. In this case, I will have to file a report with my insurance company too.

Oh man…. What a day. The feeling of being rammed is really terrible especially when you are riding. However, I am still glad that I am not injure at all except from the the little shock I suffered. As the saying goes, "Good luck is bound to follow when you escape from death." Hope that things will go smoothly for me from now on.
